At least four people need to sign up for a class to proceed. Join the waitlist, if very interested in a project. This helps us know whether to run a class again.
We’ve broken down the beginning class into 3 separate classes in order to offer more flexibility in projects and scheduling. You can take them sequentially as you learn new techniques, or jump in or out as your time and availability allow. Each level will consis of 2 classes and at the end of the each level there will be the next level ready for you to progress.
Beginner 101
In this class you’ll learn how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off and follow a simple pattern. You’ll be making a scarf on chunky yarn so your stitches will be easy to see and the item will knit up quickly. We’ll also be teaching how to unknit, weave in ends and join new yarn in the middle of your project.

Beginner 102
Fingerless Mitts: In this class you’ll be making simple fingerless mitts that require knitting, purling and pattern reading. A new technique you’ll learn is sewing a simple seam.
This class continues from Beginning 101, incorporating and reinforcing your skills as you make a pair of these little hand warmers.

Beginner 103
PERKY LITTLE HAT :) In this class you’ll be learning how to make a bulky hat which is seamlessly knitted using thick yarn and a circular needle. You’ll get more practice reading patterns and also learn how to join and knit in the round and make a simple decorative stitch pattern using decreases and yarnovers. The hat can be finished with a pompom, either purchased or made of yarn.

This blanket is a fun, interesting and rewarding project. The pattern for the class is found in the booklet called Building Blocks by Michelle Hunter. It includes the patterns for 12 blocks, each made with different stitch patterns, which will then be sewn together to make a blanket. In this first session of the class we will make 6 blocks, and in the next 6-class session, we will make the final 6 blocks. The stitch patterns will give you a great introduction to many different skills, which you can then put to good use in future projects!
Techniques include: simple chart reading, cables, simple lace, increases, decreases, bobbles and more!

You can create your own magical comfort chicken, that doesn’t need a permit to always be with you! It is loveable and huggable and you don’t even have to feed it to love you back! The chicken is knitted in worsted weight yarn using garter stitch (no purling) and is shaped using basic short rows. There are a few simple seams to connect the parts and then it’s stuffed with fiberfill to make it soft and squishy.
Techniques include: knitting (no purling), decreases, increases, wrap & turn short rows, picking up stitches.

This project is a simple, stylish top-down baby jacket, in sizes ranging from newborn to 18 months. Baby sweaters knit up quickly and the fit isn’t as critical as an adult sweater, which is what makes this ideal for the experienced beginner who is ready to go to the next level. The cardigan is completely seamless and requires very minimal finishing. It will be a perfect jacket for spring, autumn and winter.
Techniques include: increasing and decreasing, buttonholes, knitting small circumference tubes on 2 circular needles

This classic cabled hat comes in 3 sizes and will knit up quickly in worsted weight yarn. You begin with a wide ribbed turned up cuff and then the body of the hat is done in a series of cables. The body and crown decreases are worked from a chart specific to the size you’re making. Finish it with a pompom and you’ve got a great hat to keep or give as a gift!

This is a fun blanket to make and to own! Each block is made separately, beginning with the inner circles and the corners are added individually using short rows. The circles can be made with solid yarns (one or more colors) or yarn that changes color on its own. Add a neutral background and the colored circles will pop!! The blocks are knitted and then joined together with a simple crocheted slip-stitch chain. If desired, you can also add an edge with a round of single crochet.
Techniques include: knitting small circumference circles on 2 circular needles, short rows, simple crochet stitches (slip stitch and single crochet)
