SCARF: ( week 1 & 2 ) In this class you’ll learn how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off and follow a simple pattern. You’ll be making a scarf on chunky yarn so your stitches will be easy to see and the item will knit up quickly. We’ll also be teaching how to unknit, weave in ends and join new yarn in the middle of your project.

PERKY LITTLE HAT :) ( weeks 3 & 4 ) In this class you’ll be learning how to make a bulky hat which is seamlessly knitted using thick yarn and a circular needle. You’ll get more practice reading patterns and also learn how to join and knit in the round and make a simple decorative stitch pattern using decreases and yarnovers. The hat can be finished with a pompom, either purchased or made of yarn.

Become a cabling aficionado!
Are you ready for more than your basic cables? Want to do more than a basic raglan sweater? Let Tam show you the tricks to knitting a complicated cable chart. Learn to change a neckline to fit your style. 

The Orson sweater is a compound raglan sweater with a gorgeous cable pattern on the front and back by designer Joji Locatelli.. This class will teach you to work German short rows, while building raglan increases and working an intricate cable. 

Tam breaks down this complicated process with step by step instructions during class time. She’ll share her clever tips on interpreting cables to make them more intuitive. 

You will learn the Italian Tubular Bind off for a more polished finish and how to change a neckline into a loose crewneck, mock turtleneck or full turtleneck, depending on your style. This is a 5 session class spread out over several weeks to allow time to finish.

Prerequisites: previous experience knitting basic sweaters, experience in simple cables and reading basic cable charts, able to fix simple mistakes on your own.

BEGINNER CROCHET

Whether you're an avid knitter who has never picked up a crochet hook (except for dropped stitches) or never worked with yarn at all, this is a perfect class! In these sessions you'll learn the basics of crochet while creating a scarf.

Techniques include: single, double, half double, and triple crochet, Foundation chain, scalloped edge & pattern reading.

Little Granny Chick

This Emotional Support Chicken is chick size made from only 2 granny squares.  The design creates the wings.  Add the waddle, comb and a few tail feathers and a bit of polyfil.  Make a brood.  Too cute.

Bonnie & Clyde

This duo uses 2 different techniques. Bonnie is made from the top down and uses a dip stitch horizontal stripe.  Clyde is worked side-to-side with a standard stripe. Purchase 2 skeins of lushious yarn and make both; the main color on one are the stripes on the other.  Two for you, or share one with your Bonnie or Clyde. Simple Fun.

This is the cutest bag.  We start with a simple bag in chunky yarn and then embellish with a bouquet of botanicals including: roses, leaves, bouillons and spirals.  Make the bag your own and then hit the town!

This blanket is a fun, interesting and rewarding project. The pattern for the class is found in the booklet called Building Blocks by Michelle Hunter. It includes the patterns for 12 blocks, each made with a different stitch patterns, which will then be sewn together to make a blanket. In this first session of the class we will make 6 blocks, and in the next 6-class session, we will make the final 6 blocks. The stitch patterns will give you a great introduction to many different skills, which you can then put to good use in future projects!

Techniques include: simple chart reading, cables, simple lace, increases, decreases, bobbles and more!

One Big Granny Square - crochet blanket or pillow

This is a great introduction to granny squares.  Just one big granny square done in 2 colors or Noro Silk Garden.  With so many color changes, it appears as if you are a color genius.  The yarn actually does all the styling, you provide the stitching. Once completed, you will be set for any future granny square projects

Cabled Headband

World’s Simplest Mittens

If you’ve never made mittens before, this is the class for you!  The pattern is The World’s Simplest Mittens by Tin Can Knits and is available for free on Ravelry.  These mittens can knitted in different weights of yarn we will be using either worsted or chunky and you’ll learn all the basics, including knitting in the round on 2 circular needles, increasing for the thumb gusset, shaping the top and then picking up and knitting the thumb. 

The pattern is written for 5 sizes, from toddler to adult large.  The whole family will have warm hands!

Frame Your Face

This cowl by Andrea Mowery is knitted in a tube.   The ends are then twisted and seamed together, creating a cozy, warm neck warmer than lies flat.   The color work is worked from a chart and it can be made with heavy DK or lightweight worsted yarn.   The pattern is available for purchase on Ravelry.

Peekaboo

Level: Intermediate

This adorable little pullover is knitted seamlessly top down with worsted weight yarn.  There are set-in pockets and a cute contrast detail added to the hems.   The pattern ranges in sizes 3 months - 8 years old and is available for purchase on Ravelry.

ALPINE BLOOM HAT by Caitlin Hunter

Level: Intermediate
