Manos del Uruguay Visit and Workshop - Saturday,June 29
Manos del Uruguay is not only a fabulous yarn but a amazing fair trade company. Fair trade supports the sustainable development of small producers, by offering better commercial conditions and protecting their rights.
They are bringing their yarns and a workshop on Two-Handed Fair Isle Knitting Saturday June 29. Lisa Myers, who is with Manos del Uruguay and their American distributor, Fairmount Fibers will teach the workshop from 11-1pm. It is open to 15 people. With attendance comes a 10% discount on Manos yarn purchased that day. Cost for the workshop is $30.
So many of us are doing color-work right now, and learning to carry one color in each hand will (a) speed you up, (b) be easier, and (c) improve your tension, compared to other methods. SO JOIN US! Treat yourself!
Afterward Lisa will talk about the company and that will be open to the public at no cost. So come over to The Blue Purl and see their beautiful yarn. Lisa wrote The Joy of Knitting books, designs patterns (here's her Ravelry link) and she has owned a yarn shop.
To those already signed up for the workshop I will be sending out an email telling you what to bring along. If not coming to the workshop please join in at 1pm!
